it's proving for the second time - it's a flat-ish square/disc (let's not worry about shape...) and its on an oiled baking tray. I'm mystified as to what I'm meant to do with cling film (if anything....) if I cover it - wrapping the clingfilm over the egdes of the baking tray, surely that'll constrain it and stop it rising. So I've kind of put cling film losely over the dough - did I do right? - recipe is unclear

I usually put mine in a plastic bag (tray and all), so I think a loose covering will be fine.

I always wrap oiled clingfilm right the way over and haven't had any problems - there's a fair amount of give in cling film anyway. The oiled bit is important otherwise it sticks and is a right bugger to get off again!

Either way, if you've got it somewhere warmish to rise, I wouldn't worry too much

What I do is to pour a little oil into a bag and place the bowl or tray into the bag. this stops it drying out and allows room to expand and prevents sticking.

that was quick - thanks girls! It's all very experimental anyway - never done it before, had to play around with quantities and combine two recipes....one of those I have to make bread (for the first time in my life...) moments and I'll do it even if I haven;t got all the right ingredients....
