What beer to use in beef and beer stew?

I've never drunk beer (don't like it) so not sure what would be a good choice? Thanks.

Guinness is good with beef

I use Guinness usually but have been known to substitute a can of Stella or 1664 if we don't have any in the house.

Guiness- makes the house smell wonderful!

Any proper beer rather than lager.

I like Mackeson stout. Stew is my excuse to buy it
