... do kids turn into fussy-eaters when they go to school? I have just baked some haddock for my 3 yr old and served it with brown rice and raw carrot sticks. Ate the lot. If I'd given it to the others DS#1 would have eaten the rice, turned his nose up at the fish and told me he didn't like carrots uncooked. DD would have eaten the fish and the carrots and left the rice. And both would have whinged at the lack of red sauce .
They were all fed the same as babies and toddlers. They aren't hugely indulged - the only concession is that I don't make them eat things that they really dislike. But the range of things that they dislike seems to expand every day - especially DD. I'm luckier than some I know in that they both happily eat meat and 2 veg types meals and pasta and love fruit, but what happens at school that turns them so bloody awkward?
