Chocolate madiera cake?

Need to make a madiera cake for DDs birthday and wanted to make it a chocolate one. Would this work - taste-wise? And how would I do it?

Think it needs to be madiera because I will bake it in a deep tin.

yes would definately work. All you have to do is add cocoa to the mix, but make sure you stift it ass you add it otherwise it stays lumpy and difficult to mix in. Tastewise, i normally add a bit then taste the mix. Hope it all goes well.

I would mix the cocoa powder with a little water so that it is a paste when you add it.
