Can you help me?
Q1. What is the UK equivalent to graham crackers?
Q2. What is the UK equivalent to frozen whipped topping?
I made fluffernutter cake today and wasn't sure about packing the cups. It turned out nice though.
I'm making peanut butter pie next week and the ingredients above aren't available in the UK (I think)
Many thanks.
Q3. When using cup measurements should I tightly or loosely pack the ingredient into the cup?

Not sure how Q3 managed to jump to the end of the post there Blush

I'm not American, but I think digestive biscuits are the closest thing to graham crackers. Can't help you with the others though, sorry.

Try in Caribbean shops for graham crackers - my local one has them, cheaper than the American candy stores do.

1 Digestive biscuits
2 Nothing really, I could suggest something if you link the recipe.

  1. For the most part loosely, except brown sugars. The easiest way to deal with this issue is to Google "1 cup name of ingredient in grams/ounces". Its what I do for most things even though I speak cups.

I'm not American but gave lived there.

Q1. Hmm, nothing quite like them here but I always use digestives as they are probably the closest thing we have

Q2. I think the best thing maybe dream topping

Q3. Not really tightly packed but not loose either. I'd say sort of patted down but not forced down

A bit width washy, lol

Ludways · 15/01/2015 19:48

Sorry about all the typos.

californiaburrito · 15/01/2015 19:48

Oh, I see the whipped topping is for the peanut butter pie. That will be a bit difficult. Can you link the recipe?

gaggiagirl · 15/01/2015 19:52

its this one it seems nice and simple but I'm happy to try others.

Lots of good ideas here. I like digestives so that's a winner. Dream topping! Gosh that takes me back.

And is confectioners sugar icing sugar?

OP posts:
californiaburrito · 15/01/2015 20:19

However said dream topping was right. You'll need 6.5 cups to approximate the 16oz called for in the recipe, but I noticed that one of the contents said that 16oz was too much do if you're a bit short it probably won't matter.

And icing sugar=confectioners sugar.

Happy pie eating!

californiaburrito · 15/01/2015 20:20

whoever damnit.
