Dinner Party 2 on a diet, 2 pregnant.

Have friends coming over for dinner tomorrow.
The men are both on a diet and the girls are both pregnant.
I'm still in the akward nauseous phase, so perhaps not the best time to host, but anyway. My question is, what do I serve?? My normal repetoire is mostly out of the question. I was thinking steak with caullifower mash and green beans but not sure I can face cooking or eating steak. Confused

What about a fresh, zingy stir fry with prawns or chicken and noodles?

Carbs are out as far as the boys are concerned. I normally love prawns but all I really want to eat is crisps. Obviously not giving into this craving too much but not suited for dinner.

Celeriac mash sounds nice too, but am a bit stumped as to what to do for protein.

Sorry to be such a pain in the ass! Normally not like this and usually love the chance to cook for friends.

Roast chicken with roasted vegetables?

Rinkydinkypink · 13/01/2015 12:31

Starter:
Prawns (chilli/garlic)
Mixed colourful salad
Soup
Stuffed mushroom or peppers
Croudites with advocado dip

Main:
Grilled marinaded chicken kebabs.

Roast salmon fillet with tomato crust (stir in pasta sauce is great for this!)

Steak, oven roast celeriac chips and salad.

All can be done with stir fry broccoli and chilli flakes.

Sugar snap peas and mint.

Oven roast celeric chips.

Pudding:
Fruit kebabs with chocolate dip/Greek yogurt and maple syrup dip.

I'd serve something simple which has been grilled or braised and then I'd put side dishes in servers on the table so that anyone on a silly diet can pick and choose which items work for them. :)

Thanks for all your replies.

Am not doing a starter, as I can't be bothered and these are close friends so things can stay low key.

For main I'm going to do celeriac mash, green beans and then either roast duck or salmon depending on which seems more appealing tomorrow.

Curry, buy a Pataks paste or chilli - (no beans) with cauliflower rice.
Pulled pork with spring cabbage and roasted butternut squash.
Frittata with salad
Shakshuka with broccoli
