....so, if I wish to avoid supermarkets and buy organic, where should I go? I'm in west Wilts but can get to Bath.

Can you get to Melksham? There's a shop called 'Who Cares' that does organic, fair trade and other ethical produce, both fresh and storecupboard things.

There are also health shops in Corsham, Devizes and Trowbridge that do organic food, including some fresh. Otherwise, I'm racking my brains trying to remember what's around in Bath - will get back to you.

Ooh,portonovo, I thought Iwas the only person who preached regularly about WhoCares . We need a bit more variety of fresh stuff than they have at the mo. We do go twiceaweek for bread though...mmmm
What's in Corsham then? I've never been there...

You can set up a regular order through the riverford website. I get alternative sized boxes every week. HTH

afternoon again!

The healthfood shop at the bottom of Walcot Street has some organic stuff, although tbh it's a bit manky sometimes.

Failing which, the Wessex Organics market stall might be your best bet - they're in Wells or Frome on Wed morning if that's accessible and Bradford on Avon on thursday. And they have a pretty good range of stuff - like a medium-sized greengrocer.

hth!

I'm too fickle to set up a regular order - well, not fickle exactly, but I enjoy choosing each week.
Wessex Organics sound good Twocats, Bradford on Avon you say? Hmm...

Corsham has 'Green Ginger' - health food shop. At the moment their fresh range is a bit limited, but they are moving into bigger premises next month I think and are supposed to upping the fresh stuff.

Corsham also has lovely lovely delicatessen with gorgeous local cheese. And a great teashop - think it's called Cinnamon. And yes they do a great cinnamon and raisin toast!

I would also echo what someone said about setting up a regular order with an organic box scheme. Iuse Abel & Cole myself - have a regular order then add bits and pieces on if I want.

There are also a couple of local ones I want to try out - Tallywacker Farm based near Chippenham and Yatesbury near Malmesbury.

Ooh, I must visit Corsham. I judge places on their health food shops
