Freezing food and travelling advice please

Daughter going back to University and has a very busy month with many deadlines. To help I would like to make and freeze some good meals. Problem being that the food would need transporting in the car for 3 hours. If I used a freezer box with those blue ice packs would the food stay frozen enough to put in her freezer on arrival, or will it defrost too much? Any advice very welcome.

Food stays frozen for a good long time if it is packed close together and well insulated. If you put the freezer box in the boot of the car, January outside temperatures will probably mean it's as solid after three hours as if you'd left it in the freezer :)

Could you send them not yet frozen in the cool box with the packs for her to freeze on arrival?

(Timing could be tricky though to get made and cooled)
