So DS has asked for a Peter pan cake and so I would like to make a crocodile out of sugar paste. Ideally just an open crocodile mouth. Anyone ever done this before? Is it very difficult?? Best way to start? I'm not a complete novice so hoping I can manage it xxx

I don't know but look at this vintage, mint in packed Peter Pan Cake Topper

If you're like me you'll love that. If you're like everyone else you'll think "Erm...riiiighht!"

How about this:

Bake 3 cakes, shallow loaf tin, shallow rectangular/square slab, and shallow round.

Cut square diagonally and sandwich triangles together with buttercream. Cut round in half and sandwich together.

Then stack as diagram, using buttercream for glue.

Cover with marzipan and Regalice.

Green regalice all over, white triangles for teeth, red tongue, eyes, etc. shape nostrils on upper part and spines on head bulge.

How about putting a little old-style alarm clock in the 'throat'?

(Excuse clumsy sketch - done with some ghastly baby painting app on phone)

Forgot to say, stack cakes with loaf cake flat, but triangle and semicircle on sides (ie buttercream filling is vertical) so that cake is 3D.
