Bacon Confusion

MiracleQuestion · 29/12/2014 14:21

I want to serve bacon butties after midnight on NYE.

Thought I would pre cook then chill in foil until needed. I was hoping to then warm up in foil parcels in the oven when ready to eat but my sister says it won't work.

Anyone have a better way to deliver bacon butties for forty as smoothly as possible? I'd be really grateful

Just the bacon would be in foil btw.

Do you have a slow-cooker? You could grill or fry the bacon rashers, then keep them warm in the SC until you need them (just keep it hidden from 'looters' Wink )

I do have a slow cooker. Maybe need a tea towel under the lid to stop any sogginess. And a box to hide it all in to fool any looters!

Sounds like a plan, Stan... Grin Hope it goes well for you!

I would just stick it all straight in the oven on trays a bit before midnight to cook and then once it's done to your liking put some foil over it and turn oven down to keep warm if necessary.

I too would go for trays in the oven, that's how they do it aboard shipWink

That's useful to know. Thank you. Being veggie I'm not great at cooking meat products anyway so tray baking might make it easier
