I got some in to make dan dan noodles, I saw the recipe on bbc good food, then couldn't find all the ingredients so it's been sitting in the freezer.

I want to clear all the crap out of it for Christmas - and was hoping to use the turkey mince tomorrow.
Any ideas ?
Tia oh wise Mners
Xmas Smile

I use it to make bolognaise instead of beef to make it a bit healthier. I add beef stock and no one notices the difference!

Turkey and leek burgers. Thinly slice leeks and finely grate carrots mix with the turkey mince add a veggie stock cube crumbled up. Cook the burgers and serve with avocado and tomato salad. Lovely.

Chilli with turkey mince is lovely too Smile

I don't eat beef so use it for anything that you'd use beef (or any other) mince for - I agree that it makes nice meatballs, also lasagne, bolognaise, cottage pie, chilli...all nice wintry things

AwfulBeryl · 21/12/2014 16:52

Do you do your meatballs in a tomato sauce ? They sound pretty easy to make, might add white wine though rather than red.

I make lasagna and burgers with turkey mince. It makes the lasagna much lighter than beef mince.

AwfulBeryl · 21/12/2014 17:18

Yep just mix them with some finely diced or grated onion, garlic and herbs, pan fry them and then finish in the oven. Serve with tomato sauce and spaghetti

I came on this thread to say 'bin it' as I'd cooked it for DS once and it smelled awful- like dog food!
I'm obviously not cooking it right!

I make enchiladas with it and also use it to top nachos with salad. I stir fry it with onions and peppers and pesto and tomato puree to taste and use this to top the nachos. For enchiladas I use the mix to fill tortilla wraps then bake in the oven topped with a tomato based sauce until the tortillas begin to brown.
