DD is 12 months old and I'm now trying to make the transition from formula to moo cow milk. However, dd isn't keen to say the least!! I spoke to HV who said definately not to mix formula and cows milk. She didn't realy say why and I didn't think to ask at the time - doh!! What does everyone on here think? I can't see why mixing the two would be a bad idea can you? Is it ok to keep her on formula for a while?

You can mix it until there is more cow's milk than formula. Loads of mumsnetters have done that to make the transition.

My dd didn't like cows milk when i tried at 12months so she stayed on formula till 18 months. then just swapped and she took it. i think i got that vanilla milk and mixed it with cows milk, and then just stopped adding the vanilla. she is 2 and 1 month now and still drinks 22 oz a day!!!

You could try him with Goats Milk. Ds didn't agree with cows milk (brought him out in a rash) but goats milk was fine. However once he was eating decent amounts of solids he went back to cows milk no problem.
