Help - fruit cake with booze soaked damsons

I have just strained a 2l Kilner jar that was making damson gin. As a result I have around a kg of damsons, pickled in gin and sugar. It would be criminally negligent not to make something with them, so I'm planning to stone them and put them in a cake. (I'm not making a pudding/trifle etc as it's just DH and I and we won't get through it.)

Does anyone have a good suggestion for a fruit cake recipe that could be adapted for this?

I would probably my normal recipe, but just substitute the weight of he damsons for the same weight of dried fruit. Sounds yummy Xmas Smile

I ended up adapting this recipe - I figured boozy damsons would have roughly the same consistency as tea soaked fruit. Just an extra egg and a bit less flour, as I had more fruit.

OMG IT WAS LUSH Grin The boozy damsons taste a bit like cranberries, a bit like cherries, a lot like plums and with just a hint of gin. I had two slices for breakfast today before work
