Mine is either

baked potato with cheese
or
egg on toast

need some inspiration. Was in the superdoop on Thursday and saw the super noodles - ooh I used to love them. Chucked them in the trolley, got them out of the cupboard tonight and they contain 14 e-numbers - 14

unbelievable

there are some cheapy noodles you can get which come with a sachet of flavouring. I buy the noodles and ditch the sachet 8p a pack - chuffin great

My fail safe is omelette (one with cheese, one without) served with salad.

Gillian76 · 07/10/2006 17:56

Chicken chow mein.

Put noodles on

Cut up chicken and whatever veg you have lying around.

Stir fry chicken and veg

Add noodles and a little soy sauce

WaitingForGodKnows · 07/10/2006 17:58

Same here, Gillian.

Or pasta with tomato sauce and cheese. Or baked beans on vaguely marmitey wholemeal toast and cheese on top.

MamaGhoul · 07/10/2006 18:04

my DD won't eat pasta, or anything remotely spicy which is a PITA

DS would like all your suggestions tho, so thanks

cheesy pasta (pasta with grated cheese on) or beans on toast

Gobbledispook · 07/10/2006 18:06

scrambled egg, beans and toast

or

picnic tea (sandwiches, crackers, cheese, ham, fruit etc)

Donbean · 07/10/2006 18:07

scrambled egg, chopped fresh tomato mixed in it with a spoonfull of baked beans, a slice of wholemeal toast cut into triangles.
Always goes down well, tonight ds ate a kiwi fruit for pudding as well, eats it like a boined egg.

Aero · 07/10/2006 18:09

Pasta, pesto & parmesan cheese.

florenceuk · 07/10/2006 18:09

what about rice? This relies on freezer - I have frozen rice and cheese sauce. Mix together, add tuna/salmon/peas - voila!

Or use the instant noodles but chuck the flavouring packet - use some stock (marigold vege stock is OK), boil noodles, add peas/cooked chicken/ham/courgettes. Stir in a beaten egg, heat until egg is cooked.

charliebat · 07/10/2006 18:11

beans on toast/spagetti on toast
scrambled egg on toast/dippy eggs on toast
or baked spud and beans/cheese

BettyBatShapedSpaghetti · 07/10/2006 18:11

-couscous with sweetcorn/peas/carrots (or whatever veg you have) and cubes of cheese or pieces of ham etc all stirred in together

-pasta with cheese sauce(adding any veg etc you have)

NastyNemo666 · 07/10/2006 18:12

right we usually do
spaghetti on toast
pasta with tinned tomatos sweetcorn and bacon

FrannyandZooey · 07/10/2006 18:13

Pasta with pesto

Beans on toast

Pitta pizzas (toast them, split them, spread on pesto or tom puree, add grated cheese, grill)

oxocube · 07/10/2006 18:18

Afraid mine is pasta with tom sauce and cheese, MamaGhoul. Or eggs in any shape or form, including eggy bread. Cheese toasties or just cheese on toast also a standby as are beans on toast. Can I be very honest here and say that although I cook nearly everything from scratch and am blessed with unfussy kids, I usually have a pack of Ikea meatballs in the freezer which they quite like and I ca zap in the micro. Also tinned soup is handy in an emergency, although a homemade veggie soup only takes about 15 mins from start to finish and is lovely with grated cheese on top. Depends if you are talking quick and can't be arsed to cook or variety and have some time.

Quadrofiendia · 07/10/2006 18:23

pasta, bacon, peppers, pesto and cheese

or

picnic style tea, cucumber, cheese, grapes, bread and butter and cake!

oxocube · 07/10/2006 18:26

God, yes, forgot sandwiches, with baby toms, cucumber. And I know what you mean about those supernoodles, Mama. I bought some out of some morbid, nostalgic interest a few days ago and binned them as they were doing their 3 minute 'resting' in boiling water as they smelled and looked foul. The list of ingredients was none too pretty either!!

fridascruffs · 07/10/2006 18:27

boiled rice with creamed spinach (from a packet of frozen) stirred through it. Can stir-fry an egg through the rice if you want.

fridascruffs · 07/10/2006 18:28

oh and (i mentioned this somwhere else today) if I want ds to eat veg and meat with minimum fuss, use a pot of baby food as a pasta sauce. Always works

belgo · 07/10/2006 18:28

Fish fingers, potatoes, peas, in gravey.

Macaroni cheese
Bits and pieces (my dad always called it) - cheese/ham/apples/cracker etc

theHAUNTEDhazelnut · 07/10/2006 18:38

For a quick cooked meal its....A tin of meatballs/hotdog sausages. Chips and beans.

Just anything quick meal then its soup, beans, etc with B+B or toast.

DSs dont really like pasta unless its in a pasta bake, which is not really a quick meal.

Mercy · 07/10/2006 18:44

Fishfingers & chips

Sausages & beans or mashed potato

Spag Bol

Picnic tea

I have one child who will give most things a try and will eat a good range of food. And one toddler who appears to live on fresh air but will eat the above. Usually.
