What can I make with leeks?

In the shop yesterday these leeks looked so fresh and tasty that I bought them. Now I get them home and realise that I don't know what to do with them. Any ideas? We would try leek and potato soup although we have never made it but otherwise?

We eat mainly veg (sometimes meat and fish) but that is one thing I've never cooked.

They are delicous roasted (chop off leaves adn root and take first layer of skin off)

Nice chopped up into discs nad boiled, served with cheese sauce

You can pre cook them in the microwave and then cover them with a tasty cheese sauce and a savoury crumble topping - breadcrumbs, herbs/garlic rubbed in and tasty cheddar then bake in the oven. Serve with crusty french bread and some salad if you want. My boys love this. If you like ham - you can par cook the sticks whole. Make sure you slit them and wash them well to get the grit out, wrap a slice of ham around it stick, cover in white sauce / grated cheese and bake in the oven. If you just want them as a vegetable slice and cook in stock which is great a dish with fish.

creamed leeks are delicious but fattening

slice up, steam, put into dish, pour cream over, season add grated cheese and put in the oven for 20 mins

yum

Stick on some eyes and a mouth and you can make a leek person!

I wouldn't eat them though, I think they're poisonous.

Just steam them and send them to my ds1. He worships them.

Cut into 1/4 inch pieces and fry, they go with anything.
