Help! Bits of cake fallen off!

Just baked a banana + walnut loaf for a cake sale and a few bits came off the side on removal from the tin. Have tried to "stick" them back on with melted syrup but it didn't work. Any tips, please?

either- cover with thin layer jam and dip in chopped nuts ( walnut? ) or tie a ribbon round and put in a bag! :)

Slice sides so they're even again. Ice it to disguise!

yy apricot jam (the cheapest stuff, about 50p a jar) is the glue of baking Grin

Chopped nuts a good idea

Jam and chopped walnuts - done! It's not perfect but 100% better than it was so thanks all! Grin

btw- I make a lot of 'loaf' cakes, and now buy the liners - saves an immense amount of time and effort, great if you freeze them and they look nice to give away :)
