Chickpea and spinach curry - like a labra at curry house?

I had a chicken labra last time I went for a curry, while the chicken was ok the chickpeas and spinach was amazing.

How can I recreate this at home?
I don't think it had tomato in it as the sauce was very brown rather than red iyswim.

Help!
