How to stop the smell of 'Wet Dog'

Please someone save my sanity.

Each time Eggs are cooked (especially fried) there is the distinct smell of wet dog. It lingers on crockery and cutlery and even after a boil wash in the dishwasher the smell is still there.

It is driving me bonkers and I'm put off eating in my kitchen.

Any solutions or tips welcome!
