Back Bacon joint - what do I do with it?

Just been to Lidl and bought a joint of smoked back bacon. I have never cooked any type of ham before!

The instructions say boil it in water for 75 mins., but surely there must be something more creative to do with it?

Am I going to be disappointed?

I sometimes chop up joints to use as pieces

eg bacon in a tomato garlic sauce topped with potato wedges and mozzarella
