How do i make stew please

how I do it:

meat gravey, pots (cubed) chucked in 20 mins b4 serving otherwise they go to mush - literally.

cubed swede carrots parsnip and lentils all chucked in a big pot with meat/gravey on a low gas (hob)

the about 1/2 hour b4 add home made dumplings - hmm yummy. serve with crusty bread as well v filling, and better the day after re heated!

I brown off some beef cubed. Then remove it to a plate, chuck in an onion, carrots, parsnip and swede and 'fry' for 10 min, put the meat back in and add stock (2 red oxo, water, seasoning) and bring to boil and simmer for 1-2 hours. Adding dumplings 20 min before the end.

I serve this with mash - which is why we don't add pots to the stew.

We are having it tomorrow night!!
