How do I use just rol puff pastry? Embarrassed :-(

I'm making a chicken pie (my first attempt)

When I out all the ingredients into the pie dish, how do I use the puff pastry?

Do I put it on the top of the pie dish or over the top of the ingredients?

Yes, that's exactly what you do. Cut a piece a bit larger than the dish as it will shrink a little in cooking.

Over the pie dish I mean. Depending on how wet your pie is it will be a little soggy if it's pressed onto the pie mixture
