Can you freeze macaroni cheese?

Have made a much larger than intended macaroni cheese with onion, bacon and cheese sauce for the boys' and dh's tea. Boys have eaten their's, dh will eat it today and tomorrow, but we are going away after that. Can I freeze the rest? Never frozen pasta before...

You can but what I've found in the past is that the pasta soaks up all the sauce and goes a bit soggy on defrosting.

Yes, it works, but I find the sauce sometimes splits on reheating.
