Good cookbooks for learning to cook.

My 25 year old brother has finally decided to learn to cook. I think it is due to his lovely new girlfriend and he wants to impress her.

He currently has my Jamie Oliver Ministry of Food book which he likes. The biggest problem he has is his hatred of all vegetables except peas.

It's his birthday in December and obviously Xmas so I am looking for suggestions for some veg hating, simple cookbooks. If such things exist!

Thanks for all and any suggestions! Smile

River Cottage Meat book? God for basic skills and more adventurous meat cookery and no huge pictures of veggies to scare the poor little lamb Grin

I know this is a children's book, but it is fabulous. I picked one up thinking to gift one away, and both my grown up daughters ( who can both cook!) love it. So, as long as you can hide the cover :)
