Does anyone make their own muesli?

If so what do you do?

When the recipe says oats, would rolled oats do?

I want to make something fairly healthy as an alternative to cereal.

Thanks

I use this recipe - delicious. Even better if you eat it as suggested with the grated apple & orange juice, although it's great with milk as well.

Yes, rolled oats is what you should use.

I make my own all the time, they usually turn out great but I tend to wing it so some batches are better then others.

3 cups rolled oats
3 tablespoons chia stirred into 9tb water and left to gel for 10 minutes (chia gel gives the muesli its crunch factor)
About 1/4 cup coconut oil
1 cup coconut flakes
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup each of brown sugar and maple syrup
1 cup nuts - I like pecans, almonds, or walnuts are also good, or mixed nuts - chop them up roughly
Handful of seeds - pumpkin, sunflower, pine nuts..

Mix it all up together and bake it for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, until golden brown. Your whole house will smell amazing.

After it's cooked add some chopped dried fruit like dates, cranberries, raisins, goji berries.

I've been known to have homemade muesli for dinner with ice cream and chocolate chips stirred inSmile

Coughie that sounds amazing!

I make my own muisli too, using a mix of jumbo rolled outs, malt flakes, rye flakes and othr rolled grains (from a health food co-op). Then add lots of dried fruit and roasted nuts and seeds.

Sometimes I make crunchy granola, but it is not exactly healthy as oil and sugar and hone is added.

Depends on the exact definition of muesli. I tend to pour some pumkpin seeds, sunflower seeds, flaked almonds, chopped brazil nuts and whole almonds and a small amount of rolled oats into a bowl. Mix in a sliced banana and get cracking. Tbh I like it dry with a generous spoon of black treacle over the top, but sometimes will have it with oat milk.
