DC have asked for (and are getting) homemade burgers this week. What can I do as a side dish that isn't chips? I can't stand chips, have never liked them...

Some sort of potato salad?

Roasted butternut squash?

Are sweet potato chips too like normal chips for you?

Potato wedges? (don't taste at all like chips, despite being potato and oil!)

Homemade coleslaw, range of toppings for the burgers? Gherkins, toms, onions all sliced, cheese and lettuce. Maybe some sweet potato chips?

Ooh, those sticky onions look lush, Tyne!! Think I'll go with adding those to buns and a range of toppings! Potato Salad is tempting, too. I knew Mumsnet would come through for me Smile

Corn on the cob?

mrspremise · 18/10/2014 17:47

Tgat sounds like a plan too, drowned. DH is obsessed with sweetcorn... it's not healthy, I tell you

We had those tonight with bread rolls, green salad, sweated red onion, beet root salad and a very few chips- which mostly didn't get eaten.

I'm obsessed with sweetcorn too Blush It's like crack for me. I tipped a load of frozen sweetcorn into a jug to microwave for dinner last night. By the time I cooked it I'd scoffed about half a mug full frozen Blush. Couldm't help it!
