SLOW COOKER: How long do you cook your Christmas pudding for?

Just that really! I am going to be making the Delia Christmas pudding and did it in my slow cooker last year but I can't remember how long for and on what setting!

I think from memory I did: water half way up the pudding basin with the base resting on something and I did on high for 8 hours. Does this sound about right?!

The pudding isn't for me so I don't want to poison my mum! Grin

I did mine in the slow cooker last year too, think I did the initial cooking for 7-8 hours, then reheated on the day for 5-6 hours.

Thanks Mad Grin Can you remember if you put the water half way up the pudding basin?

Yes, water halfway up the basin. I've got a slow cooker recipe that says five hours on high to cook. I think I just followed my normal recipe that says 6 h to cook and 2 to reheat. I always reheat for much longer than that though what with the chatting and drinking and fast quantities of food to be consumed.

Yes, half way up and sitting on an upturned saucer. Games, your timings sound a lot better than mine, I did wonder if I was cooking it for too long so might adjust it this year.

6 hours on high with the water half way up the basin. 2 hours to reheat before serving. I rested it on a bed of crushed tin foil because a saucer wouldn't fit. You might have to top up with boiling water halfway through cooking.
