Anyone celebrating this weekend? I'm by no means an expert (done plenty of Xmas dinners though), but am planning one for the family. It's a new tradition for us due to DH being Canadian although we are now here in the UK.

So here is my menu, feel free to critique:

Roast turkey - going to do nigellas super juicy one from her Xmas book as it was a success last Xmas. Can't find fresh turkey though, so going to get a frozen one.

Bacon cornbread stuffing - Martha Stewart recipe.
Mashed potatoes with lashings of butter and cream.
Maple glazed acorn squash - if I can bloody find any!
Caramelised brussel sprouts with sherry Dijon vinaigrette
Roasted beet salad - with feta, pecans, rocket/spinach.
Sweet potatoes - do I need these?!

Pudding is traditional pumpkin pie and then I'm doing the gingersnap pumpkin cheesecake from Smitten kitchen. It might be overkill, but I love pumpkin! Someone is bringing apple pie.

Do I need anything else? Apart from maybe some wheelbarrows for people to roll themselves home in?
