If it was summer time lunch then I would put it in rolls with salad, coleslaw but I want to do it as more of an evening meal , informal family dinner with dbil and sil?

I'd still do it with rolls, salad and coleslaw. Sweetcorn.

Can't really think of any other way to serve it.

Baked potato would be nice with pulled pork, I recently had it on a pizza at F&BS with BBQ sauce.

Another vote for baked potato with corn on the cob and/or cauliflower cheese.

pepperrabbit · 03/10/2014 22:38

Has to be red cabbage, my favourite Smile

Would rice, salad and wraps be ok? Dh doesnt like baked potatoe, maybe I could just put an assortment of rice, baked spuds, salad, sweet corn, coleslaw and bread on table?

Oven baked potato and corn bread. Yum! A nice coleslaw on the side would still be nice. Maybe a winter slaw.

frazzled74 · 03/10/2014 22:47

Ooh corn bread and winter slaw sound good! Will go google some recipes!

Sweet potato mash & corn on the cob

Jbck · 03/10/2014 22:50

Sweet potato wedges, maybe too sweet with sauce, ordinary homemade wedges, coleslaw but a vinegary one.

Jbck · 03/10/2014 22:51

Oooh just saw pp sweet potato mash. Yum!

Groovee · 03/10/2014 23:03

Crusty rolls, salad and wedges

Mash and corn on the cob

Braised red cabbage cooked with chopped apple and a smidge of blackcurrant jelly. Serve in rolls or with baked potato.

I make a nice red cabbage slaw (i once saw on "Lorraine"! )

Red cabbage chopped
Balsamic vinegar
Good olive oil
Brown sugar
Salt

Is lush and good with fatty meat as the tartness cuts through it.

Polenta chips, winter slaw and homemade baked beans.

AgaPanthers · 04/10/2014 11:48

Tortillas, various salsas, guacamole, refried beans

I often make pulled pork nachos at this time of year - tortilla chips, pulled pork, salsa, kidney beans, jalapeños and cheese (I find Edam good here). Serve with sour cream and guacamole.

Luxaroma · 05/10/2014 09:57

I like it with crackling, slices of bramley apple fried in butter, roasted butternut squash and broccoli.

frazzled74 · 05/10/2014 21:25

We had it in wraps with wedges and salad in the end, loving some of the ideas though , and will be making the nachos with the leftovers!
