DIY NANDOS

Here's how to DIY. You need: chicken thighs with bone in and skin.

A pack of nandos rub. (Or two)
Some skinny McCain oven french fries (Cook in 5 mins type) and nandos brand Peri peri salt.

I did the rub ahead. Don't add oil. I then baked in the oven for 20 mins or so and finished on bbq. Serve with the sauce in a bottle.
Cover Chips with the salt.

My teenagers pronounced to be just as good as nandos. And cost about £14 all in for 5 of us. (With leftovers)

we use the hot nandos peri peri rub on chicken wings and they are yummy too

Home Bargains do a microwave Mexican rice for 50p- tastes very similar to nandos spicy rice. We love a "nandos" night at home Grin

But what about the red pepper dip? Wink We make that too.

Two jars of red peppers, 2 tins of chopped tomatoes, 2 cloves of garlic and a big onion. Chop it all up, fry for as long as you want and eat it chunky or wizz it up for smooth like in Nandos! I make big jars of it and use if for all sorts of things.

NB - this is actually surplus to requirements in my house now, as DD works in Nandos and when she's closing, we often get food home! Now that's DIY Nandos! Grin

Macho peas..

Peas, mint, parsley, chilli and butter.. Mashed.

Food doesn't get any easier than that! channels Greg Wallace

Smoked paprika on hummus tastes like the drizzle you get.

The absolute best way of doing HM Nandos chicken is in the roasting bags.

We do it all the time!

Yum.

WE often do this on a Sunday evening- nice easy meal.

Yes I have recently added DIY Nandos to my repertoire of homemade fast food, courtesy of DS1. It's very popular with his mates at Uni.

Thankyou Maureen, I am making the pepper sauce for the third time to go with our chicken. There's enough left to then make pasta with chicken and chorizo. It's yummy!

NoelleHawthorne · 12/12/2014 16:53

its me, I am noelle now Wink
I went to RL nandos the other night, and think that my DIY might be nicer ( apart from the chips)

dingit · 12/12/2014 17:13

Nice xmassy name Smile
I roast my own peppers, as I'm tight, but it works. So hungry now.
