So is there a reason I shouldn't make chip shaped roast potatoes around my chicken then?

I normally do tiny little cubed roasties for the kids' dinner if I've bunged a chicken in the oven because they don't need par-boiling and I'm lazy like that

but I'm wondering why I don't make chips

would they work?

i do them around my chicken or roast all the time.

Delicious!

I think they would work. But if you bung the pots aroudn the chicken, how do you manage gravy?

I do chip shaped pots with my chicken on a different tray with some carrots, so I can make gravy from the chick. FIL doesn't like them like this not "tradditional"

BTW I put the pot & carrots in for last hour of roasting, which chicken is resting I turn the oven up to 220C to get them crisper for last 20 min.
