How do you get a neat dripping effect on a cake?

I love the look but can never do it right. Any tips?

Consistency of whatever it is you are dripping is the most important. Make sure it's not too runny or too thick. And that your cake is completely cold, otherwise it will warm up your drips and make them run!

What are you going to drip?

Thanks! Chocolate ganache, I think. It's for a birthday cake.

With ganache then I'd probably make it and leave it about an hour before trying to drip it. If you pour straight away it'll run down the whole side
