Hi
Just printed off the recipe for Lemon Dizzle Cake (am doing a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday) was just doing my Tescos order online and searched for baking powder but its not coming up. Is it known by any other name? I always use SR flour and havent used baking powder for years so I'm feeling a bit dull!
Sorry
Thanks
Frankie

bicarbonate of soda?

co-op always sell both (I think they are slightly different)

Baking powder is different from bicarb - baking powder is more powerful.

i've also found it with Tesco that some products are difficult or impossible to order. Sometimes if you change the name it might come up. try baking stuff or something similar or go to Sainsburrys. I've always bought mine in there. Good luck!

Hi
Thanks, think I'll call in the Co-op tomorrow when the kids go to playgroup.
Cheers

Baking powder is bicarbonate of soda mixed with a certain amount of cream of tartar. The two together give each other a good kick to get things rising.
