...made cookie dough. Out of predominantly organic/fair traded ingredients. A roll of the stuff to put in the freezer so that I can casually rustle up instant home-made cookies for visitors to the Inferiority Complex, with no notice whatsoever, in manner of true Food Ponce.

'kinell, I'll be having Strong Feelings about fruit shoots next

you mean you bought a roll of cookie roll and re-wrapped it badly in silver foil before placing in your freezer surely

Twiglett · 23/09/2006 19:33

D'oh - I meant dough obviously

Glassofwine · 23/09/2006 19:33

sounds wonderfull - how did you do it, can you just cut some off or do you use the lot - can it be cooked from frozen.

Please can i copy

chickenwings · 23/09/2006 19:34

At least you have a reputation to ruin! I am know as a disaster area in the kitchen so people are grateful for anything I produce.

motherinferior · 23/09/2006 19:34

Twig, I made the stuff. Took me about 10 minutes from looking for the butter to shoving it in the freezer.

GoW, there are quite a few cookie recipes that work that way - you slice and bake from frozen.

Don't get ahead of yourself with the Strong Feelings over Fruit Shoots. You need to Raise A Superior Eyebrow over sausage rolls first.

Glassofwine · 23/09/2006 19:36

sorry to be dense, but if it's frozen isn't it hard to cut? Where do I look for reciepe. I want to look as uber cool as you

PMSL @ feckit

NotQuiteCockney · 23/09/2006 19:48

Rolled cookies are great - you can roll the outside bit in chopped nuts, and end up with a chopped nut ring around the edge of each cookie.

SherlockLGJ · 23/09/2006 19:49

Fick emoticon needed, how can you cut them if they are frozen. ??

CountessDracula · 23/09/2006 19:50

why would this ruin your reputation?

(hate cookies myself nasty soggy things give me realy biscuits any day)

motherinferior · 23/09/2006 19:57

Because I get all uppity with food zealot types.

Gingerbear · 23/09/2006 20:16

your reputation lies in tatters.

NotQuiteCockney · 23/09/2006 21:00

They're not that hard when frozen, at least, mine weren't. And at least while frozen, the dough isn't totally totally sticky.

You end up making much thinner, neater, cookies/biscuits this way ...

Glassofwine · 23/09/2006 21:41

Still need a recipe though... please

MrsSpoon · 23/09/2006 21:46

Yes recipe please MI? My cookie recipe isn't a roll out one so I don't think it would work the same way.

GeorginaA · 23/09/2006 21:48

MI, you cow. You can't post a thread like this and then NOT give us the damn recipe

serenity · 23/09/2006 21:53

You actually put it in the freezer?

You didn't just say it was in the freezer, but surreptitiously sneak it out and scoff the lot? (frozen cookie dough, mmmmmmm)

NotQuiteCockney · 24/09/2006 07:38

Here is a sample recipe, only without many reviews.

Joy of Cooking has a few recipes for this, too.
