I know there have been various threads on fundraising makes over the years but new ideas come along. Would be interested in tried and tested recipes which you know sell well, are quick, easy and not too expensive to make

Last year we did small boxes, cakeaways we called them. Each of them had a slice of homemade cake or a scone and either a teabag or a sachet of coffee and a napkin. They sold really well.

Cakes and bakes that were popular were homemade brownies, scones, mars bar cakes, malteser cakes and cupcakes which nice decorations.
We auctioned off a 9" Guinness cake which was decorated with sparkly bits and icing and got £16 for it.

Stuff like iced coffee, coffee with different flavoured syrups, hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows, herbal teas (hot or iced), soy milk, rice milk, etc. have proved popular at the charity ´coffee mornings´ we´ve run at my school these last two years. Also cutting cakes into bitesized portions and serving 3, 4 or 5 different ones a "cake tasting plate" is very popular, as is offering parcels of cake (slabs or even entire cakes) to take home for the family or give as gifts. Mini pastries tend to be the first cakes to disappear regardless of what time we hold the ´coffee morning´. Also we have a couple of lovely beauty therapists who will come and give mini-manicures to those who donate to the charity in return for getting to put up their flyers/posters.

Finally if children are coming it can be worth it to pay a children´s entertainer as this will mean the mums and grans stay for longer and spend more money overall, also buy cakes for their kids as a "reward" for staying out of mum´s hair and letting her have some time to chat with the other adults / get a manicure. (The entertainer may offer a reduced rate). Also make sure there is plenty of seating as I find that also ensures people stay for longer.

I hope this helps. I can post recipes as well, if you´d like.
