Vitamix- anyone have one?

I have some Lakeland vouchers to use and have been looking at the Vitamix blenders. They seem to be quite versatile, claiming to make soup within minutes.

Does anyone have one? If so, are they worth the money/counter space?

I have one. It's a brilliant blender but I wouldn't be swayed by the talk of soup or ice cream. We tried making soup but it goes all fluffy and a bit baby-food like, if that makes sense. Best use for it is Snickers milkshake with milk, Snickers and ice cream.

Thanks Gremlingirl that's very helpful. I already have a decent blender, so it was the soup making credentials I was particularly interested in. From what you say, it wouldn't do anything sufficiently different to what I already have.
