Chocolate Spider-Man cake

My soon to be 3yo has decided he wants a Spider-Man chocolate cake. My plan is to make a standard chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream in the middle (I make that sound like I've made it before!)

But I'm not sure how to decorate it - I've seen pictures with red fondant and then a spiders web drawn on and a Spider-Man figurine in the middle - but I'm not sure how to achieve it.

Does anyone have any simple recipes? How do I make the red fondant & spiders web?

Any advice massively appreciated

I can make a reasonable cake, but can't decorate to save my life.
I order something like this for the top of a homemade cake.

Just buy ready to roll fondant from tesco, they do lots of colours now, do spiders web with black icing then cut out white Spider-Man eyes with white your ds will love it
