Slow cooker pulled pork - skin and fat off???

Just that really. I've got pork shoulder to make pulled pork. Do I remove the skin and fat before chucking it in the slow cooker?

I leave it all in tact for cooking and take out once cooked.

I leave it on for cooking, then take it off and crisp it up in a blistering hot oven before chopping it up and mixing the shards into the pork once I've shredded and sauced it.
