I have never made bread before except in a breadmaker years ago. Can anyone recommend a good starting out recipe? I have some 00 flour and yeast although can go get other ingredients as needed.

Yes! Jamie Oliver's basic bread recipe here. bread

It's the one I began with and is fool proof. Really nice too.

I like Paul Hollywood's recipes, because they always work for me... www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/paul_hollywoods_bloomer_84636

I use a very basic recipe, 500g bread flour, sachet of yeast, 7g salt, 300 ml tepid water. Combine and knead for 4 mins, leave covered for 10 mins, knead again for 4 mins, cover and leave for 1 hour, knock back, shape and leave for a further 45 mins or doubled in size and bake. So easy and always turns out great. Good luck!

You can also freeze the dough after shaping and before the final prove then take it out the night before and leave to defrost/prove and it's ready to bake in the morning
