I just ate my first ever butter tart. They are a canadian recipe I understand. They are the food of the gods.
The only recipes I can find online involve corn syrup, which is hard come by in the UK.

Does anyone have a UK friendly recipe?

Nope, it isn't, I bought mine from Amazon few months back but apparently they sell it in Tesco.
