Green and hardish so probably like a confeence variety, squirrels are waiting under the branches for them to fall off....
Hate to see them rotting away but how can i preserve them?

Bake them slowly in a cool oven with sugar, red wine and cloves - delicious! Works with even inedibly green rock-hard pears.

My pear trees on the allotment are looking good this year so I've been researching recipes already.

bottled pears

Pear Amber

Pear and lemon jam

Plus I may try candied pears.

You can use unripe pears in chutney
