Gift for teenager learning to cook?

My nephew's girlfriend thinks she is a hopeless cook but really wants to learn to improve. What gift could I buy her that is a bit fun, not too boring, that would help her improve her skills?!

Hmm. Depends on what she's already got. It's not very fun, but a bloody good cook's knife is invaluable, IMO.

I've plumped for a basic decent knife set, a copy of Jamie Oliver's Ministry of Food and some Tesco vouchers for ingredients!

Sounds good! Hope she enjoys herself (and remind her that it won't always turn out right and it's not the end of the world if it doesn't).

Depends how much you want to spend. Maybe a cooking experience from a cook school?
