Freezing butternut squash?

I have just made a lovely curry to a new recipe but now I have leftover butternut squash. Is there any way to freeze it?

I did this with some squash before I went on holiday. I cut it into usuble chunks, blanched it in some boiling water for a couple of minutes then cooled it under the tap before putting it into a freezer bag.

I froze chunks cooked then once defrosted fried in butter and herbs
