In Germany they make a really nice tray bake with plums and sweet bread but my translation isn't very clear maybe, itis worth a try as it is yum!
For the base:
500g Flour, 30g Yeast, 100g sugar, 1 pinch salt, 1/4 litre of milk or cream(!), 125g butter and 2 eggs.
Plums around about 700g
For the topping (streusel): 150g sugar, 150g butter, 200g flour.(Rub together to make crumbs not too fine)

Mix all base ingredients together in mixer or knead well and leave to rise for 3/4 hour then knead again and roll out on tray, spread with halved plums and top with Streusel-mixture.
Bake 180° for 30 mins.

Plum crumble

Plums (stoned). Not sure how many, always do it by eye, but around 1kg would be about right.
6oz plain flour
3oz butter
3oz demerara sugar, plus extra for the fruit.
3oz chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Sprinkle a few dessert spoons of sugar over the fruit. Rub the butter into the flour (or blitz in food processor for about 12 seconds). Stir in the sugar and then the nuts (or blitz again for about 5 seconds). Spread over the fruit. Cook for about 35 mins on at 180 degrees.

This also works well with apples (in which case, at a teaspoon of cinnamon to the topping); rhubarb (nice with some ginger in the topping), apricots or damsons (for which you need to sprinkle much more sugar).

Lovely with double cream or vanilla ice cream.
