Due to an online shopping error I have ended up with a 1kg gammon joint instead of the steaks I thought I was ordering (I'm not sure what happened, I asked for 2 portions at £1.25 each from the meat counter, assuming at that price they were steaks and I ended up with 2 £9 joints
). Anyway, I thought I'd make use of my slow cooker but I've never put a joint in it before so any tips? Should I soak it first? High, medium or low and for how long? Dry or with water? (I don't have any cola or cider but I do have apple juice, sugar and honey).
I should add that I'm vegi so I won't be trying it as it cooks
