... organic sauerkraut is at the top of the list. Been there for about 3 years and has moved house with us. Just musing as to when I will throw it away but am very open to persuasion if someone knows how lovely it is and can convince me!

Three years? It is going to be pretty fizzy with ferment by now! Throw it unless it is still in date.

Otherwise it is great with venison or other dark meat, mashed potato and some rich wine gravy. Or serve with good sausages on hot dog buns. Or eat with pork, fried apple slices and mash potatoes. It is definitely a winter food.

Very good with black pudding as it cuts through the fat.

IT still looks ok, black pudding isn't on my list of faves either so not sure on that, perhaps if it last on til the autumn with mash and venison sausage - do you warm it up?

If the jar lid hasn't popped up it will be fine.

Good lord...maybe ask at work who likes sauerkraut then give them an impromptu gift.

Sauerkraut's the kind of thing I'd tuck into at a restaurant but I couldn't bring myself to open a jar at home and put it on my plate. Hypocrisy, I know.

The rest of a packet of giant couscous. Love couscous but the big stuff wigs me out for some reason!

jiltedjohnsjulie Try making the couscous with orange juice - delicious and no need to add other ingredients. Make a bed of couscous with spicy chicken on top, hummus on the side.
