The myth that cheerios are actually a 'good' cereal

If you look at the sugar and salt content and compare it to something like weetos its worse. (weetos are a chocolate wheat cereal for those who haven't heard of it)

I too was surprised about Weetos, which I read about in Health Which as being a decent children's cereal. My son was delighted!

I took DS1 shopping with me this week (he is the fussiest) so that he could pick new things to replace what i'm not letting them eat anymore.

sorry pressed enter to quickly!

We were examining the salt/ sugar etc and with the exception of weetabix (which he wouldn't allow passed his lips) weetos were the best.

I did market research for weetos once and everyone in the group was suprised at how good they were. They are part of the Weetabix group which I think generally speaking are very good.

I still am happy to feed ds cheerios though (not honey ones the white box ones). Salt/sugar content is alot better than many other cereals, I don't want him getting hooked on chocolate and the rest of the day he eats food I have made him.

I agree gegs, we bought Weetos a year or so ago as I noticed they were better than cheerios, after a couple of boxes they were fed up of them, wanted something else and oh, can we have another chocolate cereal mum? Naturally I declined!I still get Cheerios but they hardly eat them, they liked the new oatibix though and 2 of them like museli so we're getting there, often prefer toast yogurt and fruit now instead though.

My new discovery is kellogs frosted wheats

only 17% sugar (the same as bran flakes)

my kuids think they are terribly naughty and love them

cheerios are crap, arent they something like 35% sugar?
