Hi all, I'm looking for a Paella company / party option for my husbands 40th birthday party on the 13th September 2014. Any ideas? Happy to pay for catering company but have been shocked with the quotes I've been sent so far. 50 guests. Haslemere, Surrey.

Have you tried asking in MN local too? Smile

What about this company? Their website says they cover the whole of the UK.

I thik your problem is that you've only got 50 people.

They'd normally be catering for more and the actual ingredients (the only variable) are only a small part of their costs. It'll take the same travel, equipment, cooking gas, staff etc to serve your 50 as it would 200, so the cost per head is much higher for smaller numbers, and it seems poor value.

I used to know someone who did this and they charged £6.50 per head. But there was a minimum £650/100 people fee.So even if you only had 30 they'd still have to charge the £650. It wasn't profitable for them otherwise.
