DS is 2 next week and he still cant swallow meat. In fact he doesn't try. I give him dinners and cut everything up really tiny so its not to big. He always goes for the bits of meat first then puts them in his mouth and chews them but never swallows he holds it in his mouth for a few minutes then spits it into my hand usually. Yes very tasty i know

He's on a complete fruit kick at them moment and is ONLY eating fruit wich i know could be worse it could be chips or something!
I am offering him proper dinners with meat and veg but he wont eat eaither except potato's. He just asks for fruit all the time.

I can sometimes get the veg into him by mixing it with mash or a low salt gravy in a stew like thing but meat i just cant even in mince form so its tiny.

I don't mind if he wants to be veggie thats fine but i want to know he's getting the right vitamins. he's the right wieght for his age and is growing fine.

Im trying not to make a big deal and offer him meat and veg or pasta or something like that first for dinner but it doesn't seem to be working. Is it just a phase?

Lots of kids, including my ds take a while to get used to meat. I think it's a texture thing. We continued with some pureed meat things, but I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point, tbh.

MY dd didn't eat any meat til she was about 4. Not through any decision of mine she would just spit it out.

I asked my doctor about it, and he said not to worry, a lot children don't like the texture or the fact that it needs to be chewed a lot.

She eats meat now, I wouldn't worry.
