What else to cook with this...?

We've got good friends coming round for low key dinner on Friday and I fancy making this, having happened across Jamie on telly the other day.

But I can't just give our friends lentils for dinner! Any ideas for an easy meat dish I could do alongside? Was thinking some kind of marinated and baked chicken thing possibly.

Lamb and aubergine go extremely well together. I'd loom for a marinated lamb dish. There's a Madhur Jaffrey marinated butterflied leg of lamb dish which requires some prep the day before but is amazing.

Loom? Look even!!

Good idea on the lamb shoe and the MJ recipe looks lovely, but too complicated for me on a Friday night .

Any simpler ideas?

Ooh, I've made this and it was lovely. I served it with homemade chappatis (Jamie's recipe too) and lots of little shop bought Indian side dishes rather than one main dish.

I was also thinking lamb. What about tandoori lamb chops? Would be really easy to prepare

ShoeWhore · 24/06/2014 22:54

Yes sorry I was kind of thinking maybe a simpler version - like lilolil's lamb chop idea.

Glad it does taste nice lesshaste. Thanks for the suggestions all - will hunt out a chop recipe.

This marinade for chicken drumsticks or thighs is simple and tasty - similar heat to tandoori chicken
