my daughter is 13mths and alway's been a struggle to feed breakfast. she has a bottle upon waking 6.30 - 8amish (varies depending on whether going to childmindar or staying home with me). then i try her with weetabix or porridge 1 hour later. she isn't keen, but i suspect she is isn't hungry because of bottle. is it okay to cut morning bottle. she has one mid afternoon and at bed but been occasionally cutting out midafternoon one instead.

also childminder suggested giving he rporridge b4 bed to help her sleep through the night. she has been waking around 3amish and not settling unless we put her in bed, but the last two bights i have given her some porridge b4 bath, the bath bottle and bed and she has slept through from 7.30 till 6am (coincidence do you think?)

do you still give milk in the mornings and cereal?

also i still give formula, she has cow's with chilminder (3 days a week) but i still feel i would like her to be older before i swicth to cows because she is an excema sufferer, but is slowly growing out of it.

any help appreciated. thanks

We give our dd her morning bottle at about 7pm and then give her breakfast at 9.30. As we run a B&B this fits in with doing breakfasts and will continue. Is there anyway that you could just do breakfast a bit later with you and the childminder?

Could you give the cereal before the bottle, use the bottle to 'top up' after breakfast?
ds has a small bottle of milk ( maybe 120ml) with breakfast which is a weetabix with milk.
then he has a big bottle of milk at bedtime, 240ml or so I suppose.
At this age isn't it about 500ml of milk a day, some of which can be provided in food (obviously this depends on how far into weaning the child is).
